Your clients will be checked in and will have time to relax and explore the bustling shops and restaurants at this iconic, mixed-use neighbourhood and working harbor.

Overnight: The Silo Hotel

The Silo is a magical, five-star premium hotel, towering above the V&A Waterfront, surrounded by the natural wonder of South Africa’s Mother City.

The Silo Hotel has been built in the grain elevator portion of the historic grain silo complex, occupying six floors above the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA), which houses Africa’s largest collection of contemporary African art. The exterior of the building was designed by Heatherwick Studio. From the outside, the greatest visible change to the building’s original structure, is the addition of the ingenious glass windows, inserted into the geometry of the hotel floors. These multi-faceted structures glisten like diamonds during the day while at night the building transforms into a glowing beacon in the Table Bay harbour.

The Silo Hotel is a celebration of art, style, architecture and design. A tribute to timeless glamour and contemporary luxury, offering the highest levels of personalised service.

Cape Town is the epicentre of South Africa’s food and wine culture.  It is an incredible destination for foodies who want to sample South African specialities, sip on award-winning wine and experience the city’s gourmet food scene. From the bustling café culture of Kloof Street and Bree Street to the vibrant food market at the Old Biscuit Mill, your clients will find all manner of treats in between.

The Old Biscuit Mill roars to life on a Saturday morning as locals and tourists jostle for a seat among the oyster shucking and cork popping, while purveyors of fine foods and hearty ales showcase their wares.

The Silo is located in the heart of the Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront. What better way to start your clients gourmet itinerary than with an Art & Wine pairing excursion, followed by dinner at Luke Dale-Roberts’ The Test Kitchen – South Africa’s top restaurant and one of the 50 best restaurants in the world.

Other top restaurants in Cape Town include The Pot Luck Club, The Short Market Club, Foxcroft, La Colombe, Chefs Warehouse and Greenhouse. To secure a table at these popular restaurants, pre-booking via the internet is necessary.

Today your clients will explore the scenic Cape Winelands. There are over 800 wine estates in the Western Cape, most of which have tasting rooms and many of which have excellent restaurants.

There are several top wine estates and tasting rooms in close proximity to La Residence in Franschhoek, including Chamonix, La Motte, Grande Provence, Rupert & Rothschild, Holden Manz and Mullineux & Leeu.

The renowned wine route of Stellenbosch is well worth exploring, if time permits. Some of our favourite estates include Delaire Graff, Tokara, Cavalli, Kleine Zalze and Babylonstoren.

After a morning of wine-tasting in the beautiful winelands, your clients will be brought to the Silo’s sister property, La Residence, Franschhoek’s finest hotel, where they will enjoy a gourmet lunch.

The La Residence experience focuses on the incredible gastronomy of the Franschhoek Valley. Guests will often sit down with the chefs to discuss their preferences and dietary requirements, with menus being tailored accordingly.

Situated below The Silo Hotel lies the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, the largest museum in the world showcasing the art of Africa and its diaspora. The museum is dedicated to researching, collecting and exhibiting this art, and houses an impressive collection of work from all over the continent and beyond. The exhibition space covers 6,000 square meters over nine floors, with 100 gallery spaces, housing a diverse and unique range of contemporary art. Your clients should set aside a full day to visit the museum.

After a leisurely breakfast your clients will be transferred to the airport for their flight to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, where they will be met and transferred to the lodge in a private concession, on the edge of the Kruger National Park.
